They are shown visiting the show's recurrent therapist  Dan Foxworthy, who decrees their relationship to be ill-fated. The way the characters and their lives are portrayed does not threaten the institution of heterosexuality, but rather solidifies it. Just because a bisexual person marries a person of the opposite sex does not automatically them straight.

Well, it's an addicting guilty pleasure and in a class of its own in terms of representation of queer women on TV. Shortly after, Alice and Tasha decide they can no longer be together. In a desperate move during Melvin Porter's funeral, Alice decides to go for the old 'moving-in' lesbian technique. Writers, get your act together. T he author of a article for New York Metro asserts, the women of The L Word , while oft-times criticized for being "too beautiful" on a recent broadcast of The View , guest Jennifer Beals was asked "Aren't there any ugly lesbians? Bisexual women are frequently accused of being "fence-sitters" or of just trying to hold onto their heterosexual privilege. This plot development begged the asking of the big questions, like did Shane sustain a head injury while doing those rad skate moves?
